The Nook

The Nook är en bar, matbutik och restaurang på 220 St Paul's Road i London.

Aptly-named The Nook is a cosy local wine bar and deli in Highbury. For flavoursome food, natural wine, a cool space to hang out, or somewhere to shop, this place does it all. Run by a husband-and-wife team, this is a sunny white-tiled space with menus on blackboards hung on the wall. Stop in for cheeses, bread, antipasti, and other ingredients to cook with at home, or get settled at one of the tables to enjoy the food and drinks on offer.

You can buy fresh deli products here, including homemade sauces, spreads, and pickles. Naturally, you can also pick up a bottle of wine to take home. Both classic and natural wines are available from regions all over the world – even London! Craft beer is available, including draft beer if you’re sitting in. Coffee from a South London roasters is served too, or you can opt for a cocktail.

The Nook isn’t just about wine – you can enjoy delicious meals in here too. Lunch is available on Fridays and Saturdays but dinner is served every day. The options range from olives, cheeses, and charcuterie that make the ideal accompaniment for wine, through to larger plates like lamb meatballs or sea bass. The menus are made up of seasonal ingredients and change often.

The team here are also vinyl experts, with a small selection of records from independent labels for sale. There’s always music playing but you can ask them to pop on your vinyl of choice if you wish. If you want total control of the tunes, you can hire The Nook for private parties and events.
