Bamboo-Mat is a vibrant eatery that's been garnering praise for its Nikkei fusion fare. The trendy merging of Peruvian and Japanese cuisine here comes with serious pedigree, as the owners have experience from upmarket spots such as Sushisamba and Chotto Matte. The refreshingly acidic ceviches, carefully rolled sushi and specialities such as salmon teriyaki or grilled octopus are served in a neon-chic designer dining room inspired by Peruvian culture. I went to the Leyton original before and am happy to say this branch is equally good. Good food with fresh, zingy flavours, and a lively vibe. A very nice addition to the area.
