Founded by ex-Megan's Turkish Head Chef, Sercan Ugurlu, and Bulgarian General Manager, Iskren Slavkov, Sonya introduces a fresh take on Aegean cuisine in a cosy taverna-style space on the bustling King's Road in Chelsea. You'll be welcomed by the comforting aroma of burning coal, beech, and olive wood, setting the mood for a relaxing meal. On the menu, you'll find a blend of Greek and Turkish dishes, all cooked on an open fire, from morning staples like hot smoked salmon and banana-tahini butter pancakes to lunch and dinner specialities like smoked and grilled octopus, oyster mushroom kebabs and beyti sarma – a dish made with grilled ground beef or lamb, and served wrapped in lavash with tomato sauce and yoghurt. On the weekends, you can enjoy Bodrum Sundays, featuring family-style feasts, live singers, and tasty dishes cooked on their open fire.
