As well as Lark Hill Place, Salford Museum & Art Gallery has a local history library that's open by appointment and dedicated to all things Salford and Manchester. There are four galleries housing a diverse array of objects and artworks, both historical and contemporary, that help visitors to uncover more about Salford. You can see new contemporary art, Victorian objects, locally-produced pottery, and photographs that document how Salford has changed through the years. Changing exhibitions on a variety of different themes take place here regularly.

The museum is family-friendly and also welcomes school groups. A range of different events take place at this museum including school holiday activities for the kids, poetry nights, life drawing sessions, and craft socials where you can make new friends and develop your creative skills with support from an expert.  Salford Museum & Art Gallery also has a shop full of carefully-curated products and a spacious café where visitors can unwind. Various spaces in the museum are available for private hire.
