Truly inspirational! An unprecedented collaboration between two labels defines the future of music productions.
Munich, November 28th
Re-edits, re-works, re-mixes...everybody is tired of yet another retro track that is trying to warm up the past. Gomma founders Modica and Imbery are surely no exception from this common statement but when they heard about the possibility of getting their hands on the legendary catalogue of infamous Casablanca Records they could not help but giving it a try.
"I always wanted to work on tracks from Donna Summer & Giorgio Moroder, Skatt Bros., Stephanie Mills or even the Flashdance soundtrack", says Modica.
Together with his label partner Imbery (aka Telonius) and Gommas finest Moulinex and the Phenomenal Handclap Band they accepted the challenge and produced a ground breaking, unexpected four track EP.
No less a figure than Peaches herself and iconic disco producer Harold Faltermeyer jumped on the bandwagon to sing and play along.
EP Tracklist

ABOUT THE PARTNERS:
CASABLANCA
Casablanca records was the home of the early electronic music scene in the late 70's and throughout the 80's releasing synth landmark recordings such as Donna Summer dizko classics. The reputation and awareness of the label and its producers, Giorgio Moroder and Harold Faltermeyer, are a huge within the electronic music community.
Casablanca Records was undoubtedly one of the most important labels in the seventies. It helped pioneer Disco and Funk and their roster contained some of the most diverse artists ever to have graced a record label's catalogue. Casablanca Records discovered exciting new artists and produced hits that are still prevalent on today's dance floors. The label's passionate and conceptual approach to their releases was unparalleled, escorting all involved on a roller coaster ride through the wildest decade of American History: the 1970's and the Age of Disco. Casablanca is today more than just an integral part of any DJ's repertoire, it is the name associated with the grooviest disco in America.
GOMMA
The GOMMA label is a music (and graphic) collective. Based in Munich and run by Mathias Modica (aka MUNK) and Jonas Imbery (aka TELONIUS). Apart of the two guys the Gomma gang consists of other musicians, djs, bands, graphic designers and illustrators from different countries.
Gomma is part of this new, small scene of labels who are crossing between club music, art and fashion. This network of young heads working on similar ideas- releasing not only new music, but also creating fashion items, starting graphic trends, and injecting fresh ideas into pop culture.
Gomma has achieved worldwide reputation for creating a new own musical language. A music style that mixes up electronic production and rock instrumentation. Combining 70ies DISCO and psychedelic sounds with 90ies Techno, Electronica and Pop.
PEACHES
Peaches is identified as the as the female face of electro-pop but has refused to follow the well worn path emerging to the mainstream and instead of this, has stayed submerged and pulled her audience in with her. Superstar artists like Christina Aguliera, P!nk and Michael Stipe (REM) are amongst her long list of collaborators and admirers
BURN STUDIOS AUDIOTOOL
Burn Studios launched the first electronic music platform for the cloud generation enabling music creation, discovery and sharing at ADE 2010.
AUDIOTOOL is a ground breaking platform rooted in electronic music and promotes open creativity, bringing together music makers within a state of the art, fully equipped digital studio. MOULLINEX
If there is an underlying trait in all good music, it must be its ability to crush boundaries between genres, dancefloors and couches, twelve inches and YouTube clips.
Originally from a small countryside town in Portugal, Luis Clara Gomes, aka Moullinex, was surrounded by music and musicians during childhood. Since his early years has been solely dedicated to the pursuit of eclecticism throughout his work, refusing to adhere to a specific genre or scene- forever be tagged with a dated aesthetic.
That being said, there is a common quality between his productions, it is the careful craft of melodies, strong degree of human touch in machine-based music, melodramatic catharsis of unpretentious keyboards, desperate guitars, striking basslines, and beats reminiscing from a not so distant dancefloor past.
Luis often collaborates with friends - Luis Calçada and Bruno Cardoso(Xinobi).
Working and living between Lisbon and Munich, they have been praised everywhere, for use of ground-breaking technology and creativity.
MUNK
Mathias Modica is one of the 2 founding fathers of Gomma Records, as well as son of a classical music composer.
Living between Berlin and Marseille, and traveling all over the world playing clubs and festivals as well art happenings and fashion events (Margiela and Colette) Munk is one of the most in-demand djs on the Gomma roster.
Modica is known for his radically individualistic approach - with a vision that always goes much further then the current trends.
Munk's collaboration on his past two albums have included DJ Chloe, Asia Argento, Mickey Moonlight (Ed Banger), James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem - which played host to the only vocal corroboration Murphy has ever done.
Munk has recently remixed Yeasayer, Etienne de Crecy , Ellen Alien, Riva Starr, Bottin, and been remixed by: Etienne de Crecy, Alex Gopher, and Jan Driver (Boys Noize).
TELONIUS
Jonas "Telonius" Imbery is best known as one of the creators of the indie label GOMMA. After co-writing and co-producing the acclaimed albums Aperitivo (2004) and Cloudbuster (2008) with Munk , Imbery has turned his attention to different music - production.
Jonas started to release his energetic, but very dirty & funky futuristic house music project Telonius.
Telonius is djing worldwide known for his skills for combining rare, unexpected club records and the newest underground club music.
